Customer Reviews

Good sound by mitch
My daughter needed a I-Pod speaker for the beach and after reading the reviews we ordered one… Man, Let me tell you the sound this little thing produces is great.. You can not crank it but normal listening all I can say is Wow… We will be buying another for my I-Pod too…

not loud enough in car by pat
It is a nice little speaker but our hope was to use it to listen to audio books in the car. It does not have quite enough power. With the MP3 player turned up to full volume, you can just barely hear it without straining even in a new car in ideal road conditions. I do use it on the deck to listen to books and it works great there. The mono speaker makes for poor music quality but that was expected.

Powerful little fellah!!! by Nse Ette
I was looking for some ultra portable battery operated speakers for my iPod, and had set my eyes on one by Sony when the store attendant reccommended this. I have to admit, I wasn’t too impressed when I saw it (the Sony one was a much sleeker design and was powered solely by power drawn from my iPod) but when I tested it with my iPod, I was blown away by the sound quality, much more distinct and louder than the Sony one.

After sawing vigorously through the rock-hard plastic casing (which loads of manufacturers feel obliged to use these days), I was able to get to the speaker. It is really tiny (sits in the hand of my palm) and sturdy with no soft bits to get damaged when packed in luggage (it sure feels like it could take a few knocks and still be fine). As others mentioned, it is rather tough to open the battery compartment (it is powered by 3 AAA batteries which last for 24 hours) or to switch on and off if you don’t know how to. However, the shop attendant showed me how to and it’s really quite easy. To turn on or off, press down on the silver edge and twist in the required direction. To open or close the battery compartment, press and turn on the 3 rubber grips beneath.

I love how the connecting 3.5mm cable folds around and locks in place when packed away. There’s also a 2.5mm cable adapter, and an instruction manual. Sound quality, like I stated, is far better than you would expect from something so nondescript looking, it fills a hotel room with sound, and does some justice to Bass in dance music.

So why not 5 stars? Well, for one thing, there’s no volume control on the speakers, sound is a bit distorted at high volumes, and I do believe a nicer way to switch on and off could have been designed. Other than that, I love it!!

Nice Sound, poor switch by P. Rieck
The sound is really good for such a small speaker, I just completed a 5 day camping trip, and used it daily during the rip for a few hours a day. It worked great, the iPod battery ran out before the cheap batteries I put in the speaker. As stated by almost everyone, it is a bear to turn on and off…
